My pressure treated deck was a write-off! Painting it a number of years ago with a product from a big chain company, it didn’t take me long to realize that I was mis-led by sales staff in believing that this primer/ paint would last for years. The last 3 years we have scraped the product off and then re-applied another. This year I decided to remove the deck and start over. I then discovered Liquid Rubber on line and ended up talking with a representative (Mike) who actually listened about my current status and explained how LR actually works. He also suggested purchasing sample cans to try over small areas of the deck to see what I thought before making a large purchase. Both primer and paint go on quite easily. It has been two weeks since the sample areas were completed and I am pleased with what I see. All said, the real test will be after the deck sits through a full summer and then a harsh winter. I will continue and purchase enough product for half of the deck (upper level) and wait until next spring to see how the paint holds up. My expectations are quite high at this point. Fingers crossed that come spring I won’t be ripping the deck down.
Liquid Rubber Cool Foot Deck & Dock Coating is a brush, roll and spray high-performance, acrylic; elastomeric coating that reduces heat transfer by up to 35% compared to regular paint. The Cool Foot Deck & Dock Coating cures into a durable, seamless; colored waterproof membrane.
Contains no solvents, is non-toxic, VOC-free, and is non-flammable. The cured membrane has excellent solar reflectivity and UV stability.
