Liquid Rubber RV Roof and EPDM Rubber Primer

EPDM Primer is a rubber polymer water based roofing primer, and like its name; its been specifically designed for EPDM surfaces. EPDM Rubber is extremely hard to stick to without a quality Primer. This Primer does not react with atmospheric moisture allowing it to be opened and resealed for use at a later date.

Basic Use

Primer is used to prime EPDM roofing membranes to provide improved adhesion for the Liquid Rubber RV Roof Coating and other Liquid Rubber Coatings.

Surface Preparation

All work surfaces should be clean, dry; free of dirt, dust; debris, oils; un-adhered coatings, deteriorated membranes and other contaminants that may result in a surface that is uneven or not sound. Clean the surface with Liquid RV Smart Cleaner and wipe down with acetone prior to the application of the Primer.  Primer is extremely sticky, it is best to apply on half the surface leaving a work area to stand on.  Apply Primer then top coating (ie. RV Roof coating) and then repeat on the other half where you can stand on the completed side.

  • Do not use as a membrane cleaner.
  • Talc, dust; oil, ice; snow or wet conditions inhibit good adhesion. Clean and dry surfaces are a necessity.
  • Not to be used on TPO and PVC roof membranes.
  • Install above 10C (50F) and rising
  • Do not apply later in the day if Rain or Dew is forecast

I can't say enough about the customer service I received from Liquid Rubber representative Trevor. Went over and above to be helpful and I can't wait to use this product on my trailer. Thank you.

waiting for the right time

Never got 48 hrs with no rain yet , no dust and cold temp(below 10 c ) to do the job

So far so good. Tips from the inexperienced

If I never have to get this stuff off me again it will be too soon. Which given the purpose of the product is a good sign!

Rolls on easy. First coat of actual liquid rubber stood up to a surprise thunderstorm so it looks like the primer does the job!

Make sure it's dry enough so it won't stick to your shoes when you're working... As soon as it sticks to your shoes once the material stuck to your shoe will start pulling up everything you step on so be patient or it'll act like a glue mouse trap. Don't get caught in it like I did... Particularly painful to remove from facial hair I've learned.
